Mich./Crestwood HS) was tabbed Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Player
of the Week in a statement released by the league office Monday afternoon.
VanAllen helped the Crusaders baseball team to a perfect 5-0 record during the
week, including a four-game sweep of conference foe Concordia over the weekend.
During the week, VanAllen hit at a .444 clip in 18 at bats with eight hits,
including three doubles and a pair of triples. He also slugged .833 over
the five-game period while driving in eight runs and scoring six runs of his
own.
VanAllen recorded two hits in three games during the week, including a 2-for-3
performance in MU's 16-3 rout of Concordia.
VanAllen and the Crusaders have one game left on their regular season slate
before heading to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the conference tournament.
Madonna will travel to Kalamazoo tomorrow afternoon and square off against NCAA
Division I foe Western Michigan in a single-nine inning contest at 3:00 p.m.
