BOX SCORE

LIVONIA, Mich. – Sophomore second baseman Ryan Morrow (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy HS) hit a one-out double to right field and senior infielder Matt Humenay (Westland, Mich./Churchill HS) came all the way around to score the winning run from first base as Madonna completed the 6-5 comeback win against visiting Indiana Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon.

Indiana Wesleyan (7-16) led 5-2 heading into the ninth inning before the Crusaders (14-11) began mounting a comeback.

Gary VanAllen (Dearborn Heights, Mich./Crestwood HS) singled home Morrow to cut the lead to one-run (5-4) in the ninth inning and Ryan Powell (Canton, Mich./Canton HS) grounded into a fielder's choice which scored Mike Cauzillo (West Bloomfield, Mich./West Bloomfield HS) to tie the game (5-5).

After each team went scoreless over the next two innings, Madonna reliever
Kyle Fedorka (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland HS) was able to work out of a jam after the Wildcats had a runner on third base with only one out.

In the bottom of the 12th inning,
Matt Rodeghier (Farmington, Mich./Detroit Catholic Central) flied out to lead off the inning.  Humenay reached first after getting hit by a pitch and Morrow hit a double down the right field line that landed on the warning track to score Humenay from first for the win.

Morrow went 4-for-7 in the contest with two runs scored and a stolen base.  Humenay went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored a pair of runs, including the game winner.

Madonna ended the contest with 13 hits, while the Wildcats scratched out five hits and committed five errors in the non-conference contest.

Fedorka picked up the win in relief after working the final four innings and allowing just one hit, a walk and striking out three.

The Crusaders will return to action tomorrow in a league doubleheader at Aquinas.  The first game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. in Grand Rapids.
