GAME ONE BOX | GAME TWO BOX

LIVONIA, Mich. -- Just one day after scoring a season high 23 runs, the Crusaders offense went cold as Indiana Tech swept Madonna (11-9; 0-2 WHAC) in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opening doubleheader at Ilitch Ballpark.  Indiana Tech (14-6-1; 2-0 WHAC) defeated Madonna 2-0 in the opening game of the day and then completed the sweep with a 7-0 decision in game two.

Josh Judy picked up a complete game for the Warriors in game one and struck out 10 to earn the win.

Madonna starter
Josh Regits (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion HS) went toe-to-toe with the Indiana Tech ace, striking out 12 opposing batters but he allowed two runs in the fourth inning to pick up the loss.

Each team could only scratch out four hits in game one, but the Warriors used four singles and a throwing error by Regits in the fourth inning to score the only runs of the contest.

In game two, Indiana Tech starter Pete Pignatellio carried a perfect game into the fifth inning before freshman
Zach Flavin (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) bounced an infield single to the left side.

The Crusaders added two more hits, including a double by Flavin, in the contest but were unable to score as Pignatellio picked up the complete game shutout win.

Flavin and
Rikco Rhoades (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland HS) were the only Crusaders to register two hits in the doubleheader.

Madonna will return to action this weekend in a four-game series against Siena Heights.  The Crusaders will host the Saints Saturday, Mar. 31 at Ilitch Ballpark and then head to Adrian for a doubleheader Sunday, April 1.  Both doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET
