PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Madonna baseball team finished up their spring trip to Florida with a 3-2 win over Fisher (MA).

Senior right-hander
Josh Regits (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion HS) earned his first win as a Crusader on the mound after pitching six-and-two-thirds innings and striking out a career high nine batters Saturday.

Regits gave way to senior reliever
Mike Hand (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington HS), who finished out the final frame to pick up his first collegiate save.

Madonna scored three runs in the first three innings after an RBI double by senior outfielder
Tony Luttman (Farmington, Mich./Farmington HS) in the first inning, an RBI single by sophomore infielder Ryan Morrow (Taylor, Mich./Kennedy HS) in the second inning and an RBI sacrifice fly by senior outfielder Manny Alvarado (Southfield, Mich./Southfield HS) in the third inning, which proved to be the winning run.

The Falcons plated two runs in the seventh inning to chase MU starter Regits (1-1) from the game before Hand (S, 1) came on to secure the win.

The Crusaders close out the 10-day trip with an 8-5 record and will return to action Saturday, March 17 in their home opener at Ilitch Ballpark against Malone at 1:00 p.m.
