Moore, who earned a bachelors
of arts degree in journalism and public
relations from Madonna, had most recently spent
the last two years (2005-07) as the assistant
sports information director at the University of
Detroit, serving as
the primary media contact for women's
soccer and softball along with overseeing media
relations for the Titan women's basketball team.
He was also the associate contact for men's
basketball, coordinating media relations on the
road with coach Perry Watson and the Titans
along with serving as the webmaster for
DetroitTitans.com, Detroit's official athletic
home on the web.
Prior to
his time as the assistant SID, Moore was the
sports information intern at Detroit (2003-05),
coordinating the media efforts for the men’s and
women’s indoor/outdoor track and field, cross
country and fencing, in addition to women's
soccer and softball.
During
his time at Detroit, Moore directed the
publicity for over two dozen all-league players,
four Horizon League Players of the Year, one
League Newcomer of the Year, three Canadian
National Team softball players, two Horizon
League Coaches of the Year as well as three
CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, including the
first two first-team selections in school
history. Moore was also the media liaison for
the Titans' women's soccer team's historic run
to the Horizon League Championship and the NCAA
College Cup's Second Round.
The
Detroit native worked for four years in the MU
Sports Information Office and was the primary
contact for the Crusaders' baseball team. He was
the secondary contact for the other eight sports
at MU as well. He was also on the statistics
crew for all Crusader sports during his time in
Livonia.
Along with his work in the
SID office, Moore was the Editor and Chief of
The Madonna Herald, the Madonna student
newspaper during the 2002-03 school year, after
he was the sports and opinion editor during the
2001-02 school year.
His
publications have won numerous awards including
having his 2003 baseball media and recruiting
guide place fourth in the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)
contest. The 2001 and 2002 Madonna Baseball
guides placed third and ninth respectively in
the NAIA-SIDA contests.
Moore also contributed to the production of the
2002-03 Madonna Men's and Women's Basketball
Media Guide which was honored with second place
in the NAIA-SIDA contest and third in the CoSIDA
contest in 2003. His men's and women's soccer
guide placed second in 2000.
Moore came to Madonna from Eastern Michigan
University where he held the role of baseball
contact in the sports information office as an
18-year old college freshman in 1998. He was
also a member of the statistics crew for the
1998 Mid-American Conference Championship
basketball team at EMU as well.
The
28-year-old Moore resides in Ferndale.
