Paul Thomas begins his second season as head coach of
the Madonna women's soccer program in 2007.
Thomas became just the third coach in program
history in the summer of 2006.
In his first season, Thomas guided the Crusaders
to a 12-4-2 overall record and a second place
finish in the WHAC regular season standings
after putting up a 10-1-1 mark in conference
play.
A
native of Manchester, England, Thomas has been
playing or coaching soccer for over 20 years.
As a player, Thomas has seen time with numerous
clubs and teams including the Crewe Alexander
Professional Football Club, Witton Albion Football
Club and Saginaw Valley State University. While at
SVSU, Thomas was a all-conference selection in 2002.
His coaching background runs the gamut from summer
camps to the professional ranks. Thomas is also
currently the Recreational Coaching Director for the
Northville (MI) Soccer Association, the Director of
Soccer Operations for the Michigan Nationals, a club
coach with the Michigan Rush and a head coach in the
Michigan girls Olympic Development Program. Thomas
has also held the position of Director of Training
for the Midland (MI) Soccer Club and was an
assistant coach at Saginaw Valley State from
2003-2004.
Thomas currently holds Advanced and Premier
Diploma's from the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America (NSCAA), is a USSF B and C
licensed coach, and holds a preliminary badge and
coaching certificate from the English Football
Association.
Thomas currently resides in Livonia with his wife,
Sarah.
